CT Botanical Society Field Trip

Wetland boardwalks give one a feel of walking in a museum, past real-life diorama. Peoples State Forest has tow boardwalks, a short wide one, and nearby a long winding one passing by sedges, alders, poison sumac, buttonbush, etc. Bring lunch and the group will find a spot with tables.
Directions and Parking: From Route 318 in the Pleasant Valley section of Barkhamsted, find East River Road, just east of the bridge over the Farmington River. Go north on East River Road for 0.7 miles. Turn onto Greenwoods Road and go about 1.5 miles to the intersection with King Road. Go a little ways past King Road and park on the side of the road.
